Join me and create your own pet portrait using pastel paints. Using a good reference photo we will take three days to produce a fantastic painting of yours or a loved ones pet. It can be a dog, cat, horse, ferret, budgie or even a bearded dragon.
We start on day one with a tracing/transferring the image, then the underpainting.
Then on day two we block in all the colours having identified the main colours we need, we mix them and block and blend them. we also add the eyes and muzzle, or beak.
The final day is spent refining and adding details, such as fine hairs, tweaking the darks and lights and bringing the painting a conclusion. I am on hand to guide and mentor you through the whole process so you are sure to produce a lovely painting you will be proud of. The size is A3 and we use professional quality pastel sticks, pans and pencils so your painting will look great.
This course is suitable for beginners and as we trace the image on to the canvas we don’t spend time trying to draw in free hand so no danger of us going wrong. Of course if you want to draw it free hand, go for it! If you are an artist who wants to delve into pastels this course is also for you.
